Chris Barnthouse, MBA, CLTC
Financial Advisor with a major insurance carrier
NAIFA-Indiana Trustee &
Communications Committee Chair
(5 hours Indiana Insurance CE approved)
Chris Barnthouse served more than 25 years in the United State Army before embarking on a career representing a major insurance carrier and other select companies in 1997. Although he served primarily in the infantry and Special Forces, Chris became most known to Indiana as the Army's spokesman during the final years of Fort Harrison.
Since his retirement, Chris has become a recognized expert in the field of Long Term Care Insurance and is often asked to speak on the topic at public, industry, and government forums. His 2011 testimony before the Indiana General Assembly is largely credited with gaining nearly unanimous support for a bill that lifted restrictions on the Long Term Care Insurance industry that had severely retarded sales in Indiana.
In addition to his business activities, Chris stays busy with his volunteer work as a member of Lawrence Kiwanis Club, and as an active member of veterans service organizations including the Military Officers Association of America, The Association of the United States Army, AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America.
A member of NAIFA since 1998, Chris served on the board of directors for NAIFA Indianapolis for nearly 15 years and as its president during the 2015-2016 year. He currently serves on the NAIFA-Indiana Board of Trustees and is the Communications Committee chair. Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Nicholls State University in Louisiana and an MBA from the University of Indianapolis. He lives in Carmel with his wife of 33 years, Lisa.
In order to sell the Certified Indiana Long Term Care Program, you must complete 15 hours of LTC continuing education. 5 hours of LTC continuing education needs to be completed during your license renewal period in order to continue selling LTC products.
