NAIFA-Indiana Monthly Member Meeting & Webinar Broadcast


August 8, 2019 - NAIFA Live Broadcast

An important NAIFA member benefit is to have regular meetings which usually offer a CE session.  In addition to various CE meetings, NAIFA-Indiana offers monthly CE meetings (with the exception of September and October).  The meetings will be held at a various locations around the state.  Beginning in July, we will be offering the NAIFA Live webinars as part of our monthly meetings.
 

To accommodate members around the state that don't attend in person, we offer a new service:  Virtual Attendance (Meeting via Zoom Webinar).  Webinar users will be able to participate in the session and receive CE credit if participant meets requirements.  Click here for info on how to use Zoom Webinar.

Our colleagues from the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP) are invited to attend the NAIFA-Indiana meetings at no charge.  The fee for their guests will be the regular non-member fee.

 

The August meeting will be held on August 8, 2019.  Two locations (Fishers and South Bend) will be Watch Party sites, where members will meet locally to participate via webinar as a group, to discuss local business, and to optionally enjoy food/drink.  Note:  even though NAIFA National offers the Watch Party option, please register with NAIFA-Indiana to attend a Watch Party.  This will help us better manage resources (seating availability, refreshments, etc.

 

Individuals that wish to participate but can't attend the one of these meetings can participate via Virtual Attendance.

"Two Interesting Planning Topics"

David Hultstrom
President, Financial Architects LLC

For over a decade Mr. Hultstrom has served as president of Financial Architects, a registered investment advisory firm that provides personal financial planning and wealth management services for private clients.

 

He began his career as a Financial Advisor at a small firm in Florida. Realizing his clients’ need for more comprehensive financial advice, he worked for several years in the tax field while earning his MBA and was subsequently a Vice President at Wheat First Butcher Singer (now Wells Fargo Advisors) where he was responsible for teaching financial advisors the nuances of various financial planning and investment techniques as well as the latest technology tools.

Mr. Hultstrom then joined Financeware as the Director of Training where again he instructed financial advisors in the proper methods of performing sophisticated modeling of financial plans and constructing appropriate investment portfolios. Subsequently, he founded Financial Architects, LLC to help individuals more directly.

This course will provide attendees with insight into a couple of common themes and questions presented to insurance advisors and financial planners.  The first part of the course will focus on the pros and cons of paying down a mortgage compared to investing.  The second part of the course will review Roth vs. Traditional IRAs and the benefits of each.  Attendees will be exposed to various scenarios which favor the different IRAs while reviewing the many factors that go into determining which type of IRA is best suited for various retirement savings strategies.
